Cooking Terms

What are all those intricated cooking words about? Here’s a dictionary of cooking terms and notions. Have any doubt, correction suggestion or comment? Feel free to say and ask!
Sake — The drink is made from rice and contains alcohol like strong wines. It is served either hot or cold.
Salamander — A special grill heating element, it is set over the food, thus cooking it with heat coming from above. Small salamanders are used for making scorch drawings for decoration purpose, baking a products’ surface.
Sambuca — an anise-flavored liqueur. It is usually a clear liquid. This is often referred to as “white sambuca” in order to differentiate it from derivative spirits that are deep blue in colour (known as “black sambuca”).
