The moderate consumption of red wine protects lungs from damage and activation of cancer cells, the three-year review from above 84 thousand people with a habit of smoking from 45 till 69 years has shown that.
Physicians have compared effects from the use of beer, red or white wine and strong alcohol on probability of development of tumors in lungs. After the analysis of factors of age, educational level and profits, index of weight, and also frequency of consumption of alcohol and smoking, doctors from the Department of Researches and Rating (California, USA) have concluded that the red wine warns cancer formations in the weakened smoker’s lungs.
With each glass of wine in a month the risk of the dangerous diagnosis decreased on 2 %, and the most essential reduction of risk was marked among those who drank one or two glasses daily — under such circumstances the probability of cancer was reduced at 60 %.
Nevertheless, physicians remind, that the best way to save your health is to stop smoking. So the results of the research should not be interpreted as the recommendation to the frequent and uncontrolled use of alcohol.

Illumination in Supermarkets Negatively Influences Vegetables
Illumination on supermarkets shelves considerably reduces working life of vegetables, researchers from La Rioja University inform. These results have been published in the «Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture».
Light opens on the surface of vegetables pores, and the exchange of oxygen and dioxide of carbon happens. Thus the plant loses liquid that leads to decrease of density and elasticity, loss of vitamins. Light vegetables without pigments change their color, and green lose durability. Thus, light reduces working life of broccoli at 3 day, and cauliflower and green onions at 8 days. Researchers have found out it, watching out after the influence of illumination on containers with various kinds of vegetables. Reaction to light depend also on what part of a plant is intended for the use.
