People, who adhere the Mediterranean type of feeding, less suffer from depression. Experts believe that food allowance rich with fruit, vegetables, nuts, fish and whole cereal products, can give reliable protection against psycho-emotional frustration.
It is noticed, that in Mediterranean countries prevalence of mentality infringements is less, than in Northern Europe countries. Spanish physicians see the explanation of such association in feed quality: traditionally inhabitants of the Mediterranean countries consume a plenty of fruit and vegetables which possess strong antioxidant action; nuts and fish are useful to brain activity, and monononsaturated fat acids of olive oil lower probability of depressive symptoms.
For the six-year period researchers of the Las Palmas University on Canary Islands and of the Navarra University in Pamplona have studied a diet of above 10 thousand people. On the basis of several components doctors have found out the adherence of participants to the Mediterranean diet, including the high maintenance of the monononsaturated fat acids, the moderate use of alcohol and dairy products, the low consumption of meat, a plenty of fruit, vegetables, nuts, cereals and fishes. People who feed corresponded to the basic criteria of the Mediterranean type, developed depression on 30 % less often. The Mediterranean feed improved function of blood vessels, allowed to struggle with processes of an inflammation and cellular damage and reduced risk of intimate illnesses — all these properties positively influence mental health, clinical physicians speak.

Authorities of Australia call inhabitants of the country to eat camel meat to stop sharp growth of the population of these animals. On counters of the Australian shops now there will be sausages, stakes and forcemeat of camel meat. Manufacturers name camel meat fine, healthy and organic product and they hope that demand for it will grow each month.
Camels have been brought in Australia in 1840 from Canary Islands for transportations of food and cargoes. At advent of the railway and machines the need for four-footed transport has disappeared, and thousand camels have been let out in the wild nature. Animals have perfectly adapted to local conditions. Today in the country there are more than one million individuals of camels which actively destroy fragile ecosystem of the continent; they pollute sources of potable water. In the further the situation can worsen: if they will not be taken any measures, the population of camels will be doubled each 8-10 years.
By the word, some time ago Australians began to eat meat of wild cats. Today millions wild cats live in Australia. They are descendants of those who have been delivered by Englishmen in 1788. They are predators and as ecologists speak “they eat everything that moves”. It can break fragile ecological equilibrium, -Australians are afraid. Therefore local hunters have decided to shorten a little the number of wild cats, and to learn to eat them, for example, as baked pudding.

Doctor Malkolm Kross, psychologist from the London University, has checked up the level of anxiety of a group of people after the stressful situation, and he has found out, that even one cup of tea possesses the significant calming effect. His group consisted of 42 volunteers. At first they have been suggested to pass short mathematic test, then half of this group have been offered a cup of tea, and another half — a glass of water. At those who drank water, the level of anxiety has grown on 25 % in comparison with their condition before examination. And the group which has drunk tea after the test has shown absolutely amazing result: their anxiety has decreased on 4 % (that means that they felt quieter, than at the beginning of the test).
According to results of the interrogation lead by scientists, 68 % of British drink tea before acceptance of the important decision. Tea in the Great Britain is the traditional answer to problems of any sort. About 60 % have declared that the promise of comfort and warmth which is given by a cup of fragrant tea forces them to switch on a teapot.
“The ritual of tea drinking — especially during any stress — is the center of the British culture”, — Cross considers. “Results of the research show that the socially-psychological aspects connected with tea ceremony raise the action of chemical structure of the drink on our organism. Probably, cultural roots play the leading role here. That is why British instinctively address to tea in difficult situations”, — scientist explains.
