Contrary to the developed stereotype, sweeties are not so harmful in the beginning of a meal. As some dieticians consider, the pie or a cake can be a kind of an antiaperitif calming the “wolf” appetite. All depends on that, how much you are hungry. If you have missed last meal, begin the present meal with several segments of chocolate, a pair of sweets, a pie slice, several spoons of jam or ice-cream. It will accelerate saturation of blood by glucose; consequently it will reduce feeling of famine and will save you from overeating.
