Labour Day (or Labor Day) is an annual holiday that resulted from efforts of the labour union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers.

World Press Freedom Day honors sacrifices around the world made for free press and puts pressure on nations that deny their citizenry of this basic human right. The day, which marks the anniversary of the Declaration of Windhoek, is observed on May 3.

In Russia Victory Day is celebrated as the end of the “Great Patriotic War”.

Annually in May in Catalan city of Llejda takes place the festival of snails “Aplec del Caragol”.

The holiday takes place already more than 25 years, it has been established in 1979 by local epicure Manolo Calpe.
