Dissolve sugar in a cup of water, bring to a boil, add half the norm ginger and cinnamon, boil for 10 minutes. In separate pan bring to a boil ½ cup water, add honey, the rest spices and boil until thickens.
Mix sifted flour with butter, add cooled sugar syrup with spices, knead dough and roll out 1/5 inch (1/2 cm) thick. Cut cookies 2 2/3 x 4/5 inch (4x2 cm), pierce with a fork in the center. Deep fry the cookies until golden, dip in the prepared honey syrup and put on a dish. Top with cedar nuts.
