Peel and core the ripe pears, cut them into halves lengthways. Dissolve the sugar in 1 cup water over low heat, stirring from time to time.
Take zest off the orange shavings shaped, add some to the syrup. Wring the orange out. Add the juice, fruit liqueur to the syrup and stir. Bring the syrup to a boil, cook over low heat for approximately 40 minutes.
Turn the pears on a dish, cover them with the syrup, sprinkle with orange zest. Serve with whip cream.
