Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm milk, add salt, stir in egg, softened margarine and flour, knead dough and let stay until rise. Mash cranberries with sugar. Grate beets, mix with mashed berry mass and zest, stir up.
Roll the dough out to make round base, reserving some dough for decoration. Put the dough base into a greased pie pan, Sprinkle the base with starch and put the filling. Top with a dough braids, twisting them to shape a lettice. Brush with whisked egg and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes over 430F.
