Peel potato. Wash it in cold water and dry. To make pie potato cut it into stripes, to make French fries cut it into chunks, and to make chips cut it into thin circles.
Deep fry prepared potato at 340oF (170oC) until crisp and golden. Take it out with a skimmer. Sprinkle it with fine salt.
It is rather important to use enough fat for cooking, no less than 4 parts of fat on 1 part of product.
Goes well as a separate meal or for garnish.
