Peel and core apples, cut each into 6 slices.
Combine other ingredients with sugar, melt over low heat, add apples, stir.
Put the mass in a pan and cover. Place in preheated oven. Bake for 1 hour until the apples soften. Remove zest and cloves, put apples in ramekins and serve hot or cool.
Top with whip cream or beaten egg white with sugar powder.
