Garlic Extract Reduces Arterial Pressure
|

Australian scientists have lead the review of researches, devoted to action of garlic extract, and have found out, that the bioadditives containing garlic, reduce arterial pressure as effectively, as usual medicines. «The garlic extract may become comprehensible alternative or additional means in treatment of an arterial hypertension», — speaks Karin Ried (University of Adelaide, Australia).
Karin Ried and its colleagues have included 11 researches in their review in which patients accepted the garlic extract or placebo. Dozes of an extract varied from 600 up to 900 mg a day. Course of treatment lasts from 12 till 23 weeks.
On the average at the participants of research accepted the garlic extract, arterial pressure has decreased on 4,6 mm. Thus, the above there was a pressure at the beginning of research, the more strongly it decreased after course of treatment.
Authors of the review mark that action of the garlic extract little differs from action of traditional medicines, for example, beta blockers which reduce pressure on 5 mm.
It is counted up, that if it was possible to lower pressure upon 4-5 items in our population, death rate from cardiovascular diseases would be reduced almost to 20%.

On Olympiad it is important all for the sportsman — from the spirit to the feed. The New Zealand Olympic Committee has gone further: together with the New Zealand sportsmen barista will go to Pekin.
Usually participants of Olympic Games are content with the drinks welded by coffee-machines. But such variant has not pleased to representatives of New Zealand. To choose barista for a command from 182 person, the competition has been declared in the country. Its winner became 21-years Giulian Friss. It is planned, that she will prepare up to 500 cups of coffee a day.
As Dejv Karri, the chief-cook of New Zealand delegation declared, there is no anxieties with dope-tests at Olympic Committee because the quantity of caffeine in blood of athlete after he drunk a cup of coffee minimally and does not influence results of the analysis.

Wine Ice-Cream

In New York they have started to sell ice-cream with wine filling.
However not all fans of sweets can estimate this innovation: on demand of the state governor at purchase of the ice-cream the buyer should show the document confirming his age.
Ice-cream is saled with various fillings, including Peach White Zinfandel, Red Raspberry Chardonnay and Cherry Merlot.
Among initiators and active supporters of the law acceptance resolving sale of the dessert is senator Joseph Griffo and William Mejdzhi, a member of legislative assembly of the city.

At the All-Russia Exhibition Centre the Automatic Devices With Aerated Water Appeared

In Moscow, in territory of the All-Russia Exhibition Center, automatic devices on sale of soda water with syrup or not, similar to that have been widespread in days of Soviet Union have appeared.
First eight automatic devices are established on the Central avenue, the Industry Square and near the Peoples Friendship fountain. Some kinds of various syrups are in assortment: “Lemonade”, “Baikal”, «Тarhune», “Pear” and others, and also mineral water «Аrhiz». If desired it is possible to order double portion. Cost of a drink is from 5 rubles up to 15 rubles. Unlike Soviet times, in automatic devices they use plastic glasses instead of glass ones.
The All-Russia Exhibition Centre management plans to establish 20 automatic devices at the territories of the Center. As the press-service of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre has informed, initially the financial benefit from installation of such automatic devices was not planned. “It is necessary to create of certain atmosphere in territory of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre”, — have noted in the press-service.

Experiments with rats, lead by the British scientists, have shown, that surplus of fats, sugar and salt in a diet of pregnant and feeding dams lead not only to the excess weight of a child, but also raises the probability of diabetes and heart illnesses development in adult age even if after a birth they feed little rats with balanced food. At rats posterity which fed with fast food during pregnancy and lactation, were burned cubs with a high level of cholesterol, glucose, insulin and triglycerides in blood that conducts to early development of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
The same law is observed at people. The women preferring fast food (chips, cakes, rolls, sweets, fried food), more often give birth to children with excess weight and weakened health.
