New Properties of Sea-Buckthorn Are Opened
The sea-buckthorn berries, known all over the world as «the Siberian pineapple», for a long time are famous for their useful properties. These berries are reach with vitamin C, Е, flavonoids, the basic fat acids, and from its leaves they can make very useful tea. Especially it is popular among inhabitants of Russia and China where it is cultivated for a long time.

Now advantages of the Siberian bush are estimated in other countries. Scientists from India have found that sea-buckthorn berries possess also the important curative properties for maintenance of liver health.

In experience on laboratory rats scientists used an extract of sea-buckthorn leaves. Rats received it within 5 days. Then they entered the substance destroying a liver. Results have shown that liver of rats receiving sea-buckthorn extract, has suffered much less. Useful substances of sea-buckthorn have included the protective mechanism of liver and blocked action of substances destroying it.

Sugar Is Not the Reason of Children’s Hyperactivity
New research of saccharine influence on behavior of children shows, that it is not an original cause of problems with behavior, type of absent-mindedness, hyperactivity, deficiency of the attention, being so widespread among schoolboys. From 5498 interrogated teenagers from Norway, those who drank more than four glasses of soft drinks with the sugar maintenance a day, as it was found out, had the lowest level of intellectual development. Besides than above the consumption of soft drinks with the sugar maintenance, attributes of hyperactivity are especially obvious.

Coffee Will Help to Cope with Consequences of Stress
Scientists from South Korea, Germany and Japan in experiments on rats have shown that the smell of fried coffee grains leads to changes in work of some genes and manufacture of fibers in a brain which help to lower consequences of stress because of dream deprivation.

Researchers have found out, that at rats, which smelled coffee, 17 genes «were working” differently. In particular, the coffee smell promoted allocation of the fibers possessing antioxidative properties; they protect nervous cells from the damages connected with stress.

New Product for Vegetarians
Scientists have developed a new product for vegetarians under the name «tempe». It allows an organism not only to acquire iron easy, but also provides it with a lot of proteins. Its value consists in the integral grains rich with the folic acid (the water-soluble vitamin of group B necessary for growth and development of blood and immune systems). At its creation before scientists there was a purpose to keep in a product the high maintenance of fibres of grain crops and simultaneous to increase the maintenance of easy assimilated iron in them, that is impossible by the definition. Wine Is An Elixir of Youth
This substance is named resveratrol, it has the ability to slow down the ageing. Scientists of Wisconsin-Madison University (USA) investigated its rejuvenating effect. At work with rats they have noticed, that small dozes of this substance protect heart from the infringements, peculiar for declining age.

«How it turns out, that the Frenchmen which diet is rich with fats, have healthy heart and much less often suffer cardiovascular diseases than the Americans?» — scientists were asked. The answer has been found in the red wine. The Frenchmen, as well as Spaniards, during the meal drink usual the glass of wine, and this drink, containing resveratrol, protects an organism from some nocuous consequences of ageing.

“Our work shows, that inclusion of a glass of wine or the additive containing resveratrol in the diet after middle age, is so effective for prevention of consequences of ageing, as a meal with restriction of calories and fats”, — researchers mark. Considering, that many illnesses of older persons are connected with process of ageing, “this discovery can be of great importance for public health services as it will allow to lower some cardiovascular diseases and to improve quality of people life”, Thomas Prolla, the professor of genetics and one of authors of research, adds.
