Halloween

This holiday has deep heathen history: On these days Celtic tribes celebrated the New Year coming, this frontier time (when winter comes instead autumn) was considered as mystic and magic time: magic creatures come to the people world and people can also go to other world. It was also considered, that the souls of dead people come back to their homes and demand for sacrificial food.

About the same time (at the end of October) ancient Romans celebrated the holiday of Feralii, it is devoted to the memory about dead people. These two dates combined, and it contributed to save ancient traditions after Christianity spreading.

Catholic religion consider the following these traditions very important for every faithful person. On this day catholic people go to the cemeteries, put heated candles.
