Thanksgiving Day

It is one of the most popular holidays. It was first celebrated in 1621 by English colonists, leaved in Plymouth Settlement. The previous winter have been very hard and hungry, the next winter proposed to be hard too. So the Governor William Bredford decided to stiffen the spirit of his dependents and organized the first Thanksgiving Day.

There are some traditions of this day: all the family goes to church, then they gather together round the holiday table. On this day all over the country charity blows. People try to feed and gladden their friends and relatives.

The symbol of this day is Turkey. Poultry breeders fatten their turkeys specially for this holiday.
