Swedish cuisine

The basis of Swedish cuisine is fish and seafood. Almost each day Swedes eat fish dishes, fish is cooked for main courses, for soups and for salads. Herring, mackerel, eel, plaice are cooked mostly by boiling and salt curing, but also by smoking and drying. One of the national dishes is fried turbot.
